Amenities

WiFi - Studio House / HappyHouse

Smart Lights (Square Remote) - All the lights in NEON Room adapt brightness and color to suit your mood. If you need them brighter or dimmer, just hold the top or bottom buttons and they will increase/decrease. The side to side arrows will change their colors. Feeling blue? Yell-over to your partner to change the lights. Orange you going to do that? Ok, no more color puns.

Heating in Winter - The ductless heating system runs more efficiently when kept on and around 68 degrees or lower in the winter. Please keep it around that temperature. The down duvet is warm!

Cooling in Summer - Same goes for the summer. It’s most efficient when set between 75-78 degrees. If you prefer it lower, please turn it up to 78 or higher when you leave the space for the day.

Towels - The towels hanging on the bathroom wall are fresh and clean. Folded towels are so 2004.

Bidet - Everyone poops. Let’s just be real. The bathroom toilet features a bidet. I know you’re scared to use it, but trust me, it’s life changing. Not only does it do a much better job of cleaning, but it also helps with toilet paper waste. Win win! Just twist the silver dial slowly to regulate the water pressure. A quick wipe when you’re done to dry and you’re all set!

Coffee Maker - The Coffee Maker is here to feed your addiction. Drink up! There is creamer and sugar in the marble container.

TV and Ambient Mode - Netflix is included in your stay. Please use the NEON Room user account. And don't go creepin' on my other user accounts, yo! Also, on the top right of the TV remote there is a button that looks like art with a flower. Press that for ambient mode to set the mood. Switch the house lights to purple and you’ve got yourself some serious vibes!

Games - There are games and conversation starters on the coffee console. Who knows, you may discover your traveling companion is a secret belly dancer on the weekends. No judgment. You do you, beau.

Wireless Phone Chargers - There are wireless QI phone chargers on the nightstands. I won’t charge you for using it (Dad joke).

Sound Machine - Personally, I love to fall asleep to a sound machine. White noise, rain, ocean, river… All do wonders to help distractions fade away. On the left nightstand, press and hold the power button until it turns on. The lower left buttons cycle through different sounds. Plus, if your traveling companion won't stop talking, it’s a great way to drown them out too.

FYI

Curtains - If the curtains get a little stuck on the track when opening, lightly lift and flick them. Kinda like the bend and snap.

Rocky Mountain High - I know I live in Colorado and it’s 100% legal to get recreational marijuana. Please no smoking on property, but edibles and or other consumables are completely ok. There are two recreational spots (Maggie’s Farm and Emerald Fields) right down the road. Just don’t get too crazy, y’all! And if you have any left over, you can leave them in the fridge. Don’t worry, they won’t go to waste. Wink wink.

Check out

Communication - A quick message through Airbnb to let me know you’ve checked out is a big help! I also enjoy poems and limericks.

Sheets - If you’re feeling extra generous, stripping the white sheets is a big help too! But not required.

Crystal Park Cantina

Arguably my favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs! I’ve been there too many pounds to count. My scale begs to differ. You must try their Sweet Potato Nachos, Tomatillo Alfredo Sauce and Molcajete Bowl (two can split). Simply sublime!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

(7 Miles)

In my previous corporate life, I managed relationships with zoo clients all around the nation. I have been to so many, including the San Diego Zoo, and I can say Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is one of my absolute favorites! There’s something magical and unique as you walk up the side of the mountain, seeing animals in lush natural spaces, feeding the giraffes and riding the gondola with beautiful views. It’s definitely worth a visit.

The Broadmoor

(5 Miles)

Did you know we have a world renowned 5-Star Hotel in Colorado Springs? The Broadmoor is a great place to spend a romantic evening dining in one of their 7 restaurants, cozying up next to the many fireplaces or taking a walk around the immaculately manicured landscaping. They even have a few more casual bars to have dinner and take in the mountain views. All is open to the public, but I recommend making a reservation if you want to dine.

GO

Woodland Park (13 Miles)

One of my personal favorite mountain spots and only 15 minutes away! There are great places to eat including The Donut Mill for breakfast treats and all the forest mountain views you could want.

Paint Mines

(40 Miles)

A truly unique natural wonder. Beautiful colorful crevices and rock formations to explore and hide in. You will feel like you’re on the set of a Sci-Fi movie. I kept waiting for little aliens to pop out. Don’t forget to bring a wind breaker. It’s very windy and can get chilly.

We have a mini Grand Canyon only about an hour away! The Royal Gorge Bridge + Park has jaw dropping views like you won’t believe. They even have a gondola ride, cliff-edge swing and the highest Zipline in North America (it literally goes across the gorge, I’ve done it several times). It’s not for the faint of heart, but what a heart pounding experience!

US Olympic & Paralympic Museum

Ok I’m going to shoot it straight to you, this suggestion is not cheap at $25/person, but the US Olympic & Paralympic Museum is a world class museum right here in Colorado Springs! I will admit I was hesitant to visit it myself as I am not huge into the olympics, but I walked away thoroughly impressed with a decent amount of tears in my eyes. It’s incredibly high tech, heartfelt and a must see. You won’t regret it.

This is my new favorite spot! You can’t beat the combination of delicious food, hip atmosphere and affordability! Homa is located in Kindship Landing Hotel right in the heart of South Tejon so it’s fun to walk around too. I haven’t had anything I didn't like. Go. And bring me leftovers.

Cheyenne Mountain Trails

7 Bridges is a popular trail with lots of mountain streams and forests. Parking lots fill up quickly so this is a good one to hit up in the morning. Once you park, the trailhead can be easy to miss, but if you ask around, someone will know. Everyone’s going to the same place.

Ute Valley Trails

Sweeping hills and valleys with relatively easy trails. Lots of open space to run around like you’re in The Sound of Music.
